I am a retired scientist who now is enjoying metalwork.
It’s challenging to start with metal wire and sheet, or maybe wax and casting grain, usually silver, and end up with a piece of jewelry that is interesting and fun to wear. That is, if all goes well!
Metal jewelry making is my favorite, although I’ve done beadwork, botanical illustration in various media, and painting. My favorite jewelry techniques are enamelwork, chasing and repoussé, and the relaxing repetitiveness of making loop-in-loop chains.
